UPDATE: MOST RECOMMENDED HOUSING
We have reserved a room block at the Holiday Inn Express in Penn’s Landing, a 7-minute car ride from the venue.
Access our room block at this link.
AIRBNB
Since the festival is in a residential neighborhood where there are no hotels, the very best and most comfortable option for accommodation will be to use airbnb.
Once on the airbnb website, search for “Philadelphia, PA 19134.” You will see a variety of options come up. Please choose an airbnb in the 19134 zip code that is EAST of (or very close to) Aramingo Avenue. On this side, the neighborhood is residential, safe and well-populated. To the west of Aramingo, the neighborhood changes a lot.
If you will have a car, or are planning to take lyft or uber back and forth, you can also search in zip codes 19125 (Fishtown), 19123 (Northern Liberties), or in any of the Center City neighborhoods. In Center City, the Old City, Society Hill, and Penn’s Landing neighborhoods would all be good choices due to their proximity to I-95, the highway that goes directly to the LMHA.
If you are looking for someone to share a room or house with during the festival, please post on our facebook event page. Thank you!
OTHER HOTEL ADVICE
Since hotel options and prices fluctuate, we recommend using a site such as priceline.com or hotels.com to find the best deal at the moment when you are ready to buy. Here are some guidelines:
Since the festival venue is just off of the Allegheny exit of I-95, it is very easy to drive to. The following neighborhoods will be a 10-15 minute drive away: Society Hill, Old City, Philadelphia Center City, Center City-East. All of these areas will be an affordable lyft or uber away from the venue.
The inexpensive hotels at the airport are an easy drive away, since the airport is just off of I-95, like the LMHA. Google maps says that the airport is a 13-minute drive from the LMHA without traffic. Currently there are rooms starting at $76 at the airport.
If you want to splurge, book a boutique hotel in “Fishtown,” the neighborhood where the Philadelphia Argentine Tango School is located.
If you are able to offer housing for guests during the festival, or if you are seeking housing in a private home during the festival, please post your offer/request on the Festival Facebook Event Page and also email [email protected].
