Evan Griffiths

While Evan is far better known as an exceptional tango dancer, performer and teacher, and also as a wonderful tango pianist, he is also one of the best tango DJs around. (I agree - it's not fair or reasonable that one person should be so talented!) We are very fortunate that Evan loves Philadelphia and always makes time in his busy schedule to DJ at our festival. It's always a great pleasure to dance to the music he selects.

Lung-Kuei Lin

In great demand as a DJ in the US and beyond, and a truly spectacular social dancer, Lung-Kuei now lives half-time in Taipei, but still arranges to come back to DJ our festival. His devoted attention to and interest in tango music shines through in his DJing, which is always exceptional.

Adam Hoopengardner

Adam has DJed something like 20 events at the Philadelphia Argentine Tango School and always does an amazing job. Possibly more than any other DJ, his musical choices infuse me with energy so that I feel like I could dance forever. You can read more about Adam on the teachers page.

Marc Hussner

Marc started to DJ out of a simple need for music at an event... Today, tango music inspires, amazes, and sometimes even drives Marc crazy! His intuitive sense for what simply works, a deep schooling in tango music history, and a never-ending quest for sonic excellence, makes comments like "I couldn't sit down all night; the music was incredible!" pretty common.
Marc was the resident DJ of two weekly milongas in Buenos Aires and currently DJ's a weekly and monthly event in Philadelphia. He is a sought-after and well-respected DJ, regularly playing at different venues on the East Coast and beyond.

Eva von Esse

Eva's relationship with tango music started when she was growing up in Warsaw, Poland. Many years passed before "tango invited her for a dance." That was 8 years ago in Denver. Shortly after that she moved to Philadelphia, continued dancing locally and participated in as many tango festivals as she could, always fascinated by importance of music in creating energy at milongas.

For the past three years, Eva has been DJing regularly at local practicas, milongas and special tango events, often including live tango music. From the beginning, her primary choices have been the Golden Age tango hits including D'Arienzo, Di Sarli, Troilo and Pugliese, among others. Ultimately, the feel of the room, the moment and the energy of the dancers determines her choice of tandas/music.
