We're very happy to offer an Absolute Beginner Track during the 3rd Philadelphia International Tango Festival so that even those who are completely new to tango can participate in the festival. The Absolute Beginner Track will be an extended version of our monthly Two-Day Beginner Intensive.

The Absolute Beginner Track will condense the material generally covered in a four-week series into an extended weekend. Students will learn the basics of tango vocabulary, structure, technique and lead-and-follow improvisation. We will change partners after every song, so you're equally welcome to come with or without a partner. The Absolute Beginner Track will prepare students to enter directly into our Advanced Beginner classes at the end of the festival. Absolute Beginner Track participants should consider purchasing a milonga pass in order to attend the social dance events that are part of the festival, practice what you've learned, meet other dancers and see the fantastic performances.

The Absolute Beginner Track will be taught by Adam Hoopengardner & Ciko Tanik, New York City-based dancers who have taught throughout the US. As well as being phenomenal dancers and insightful teachers, Adam & Ciko are the most fun, funny, and energetic people you could hope to spend a weekend with. There is no doubt that you will both learn a lot and have an enormous amount of fun if you take the Advanced Beginner Track during this year's festival.
